(Wednesday Night): Once
again, the bulls have foiled the bears by inching slightly higher.
The NASDAQ Composite
to 2,799.22. The Dow annexed 32.85
to close at 12426.75, while the S&P 500 rose2.91
to close at: 1,335.54. Oil tolled the knell of parting day
at $108.46 a
barrel, while Gold rose to $1,458. The VIX fell 0.25
points to 17.25.
Perhaps the most important happening today was that the Dow closed above 12,400, confirming the Dow Theory "buy" signal. Meanwhile the S&P 500 closed 6½ points below its previous 2011 high (1,343), after flirting with a level (1,339) four points below that value.
