2008-9-3:   The price of oil dropped a little further today in spite of three new hurricanes in the Atlantic. A worldwide economic slowdown seems to be overpowering oil shortage concerns. In the meantime, the Nasdaq fell 15.51 points to 2,333.73, the S&P declined 2.6 points to 1,274.98, and the Dow rose 15.96 points to 11,532.88. The VIX fell from 21.99 to 21.43. (U.S. stocks finish mostly lower in face of economic jitters)
    In short, not much happened.
