The Hoodia Cactus

A reader has written in, describing the "hoodia cactus" found in the Kalahari Desert that suppresses hunger for 20 hours.
Thank you very much.  Knowing about it is worth a lot.
With a obesity becoming recognized as a worldwide problem, anything that can restrain one's appetite is invaluable.
Apparently, those on a caloric-restricted diet become quite hungry. (Rats on caloric restricted diets must be kept in separate cages. Otherwise, they'll eat each other.) An appetite suppressor like hoodia might render caloric-restricted diets more practical.
